तृतीय मंडल — गायत्री मंत्र का स्रोत
62 सूक्त। विश्वामित्र ऋषि द्वारा रचित। इस मंडल में है — गायत्री मंत्र (सूक्त 62, मंत्र 10) — हिंदू परंपरा का सबसे पवित्र मंत्र, जिसे लाखों लोग प्रतिदिन जपते हैं।

दधिक्रां वः प्रथम्मश्विनोभ्समग्निं समिद्धं भगभूतये हुवे. इन्द्रं विष्णुं पूषणं ब्रह्मणस्पतिमादित्यान्द्यावापृथिवी अपः स्वः... (१)
We invoke the radiant, swift, and all-pervading Agni, the source of prosperity. We call upon Indra, Vishnu, Pushan, Brahmanaspati, the Adityas, Heaven and Earth, and the Waters for our well-being.
हे स्तोताओं! तुम्हारी रक्षा के लिए सबसे पहले मैं दधिका देव को बुलाता हूँ. इसके बाद अश्विनीकुमारों, उषः, प्रज्वलित अग्नि और भग नामक देव को बुलाता हूँ. मैं इंद्र, विष्णु, पूषा, ब्रह्मणस्पति, आदित्यौ, द्यावा-पृथिवी, जलौ एवं सूर्य को बुलाता हूँ. (१)

दधिक्राम् नमसा बोधयन्त उदीराणा यजमुप्रपयन्तः. इळों देवीं बर्हिषि सादयन्तोऽश्विना विप्रा सुहवा हुवेम.. (२)
We invoke the wise and well-invoked Ashvins, who, with offerings of yogurt, awaken and praise the divine Earth goddess, establishing her on the sacred grass.
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
दधिक्रावा बुबुधानो अग्निमुप ब्रव उषसं सूर्य गाम्। ब्रह्मण मंश्रतोवरुणस्य बभूं ते विश्वास्सदुरिता यावयन्तु.. (३)
May the divine horse, the dawn, the sun, and the fire, invoked by the wise, dispel all our sins and misfortunes.
दधिका देव को जगाता हुआ मैं अग्नि, उषा, सूर्य एवं भूमि की स्तुति करता हूं. मैं अभिमार्गियों को नष्ट करने वाले वरुण के महान् एवं पीले रंग के घोड़े की स्तुति करता हूं. वे हमसे सभी पाप दूर करें. (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
दधिकावा प्रथमो वाजवर्गे रथानां भवति प्रजानान्। संविदान उपसा सूर्योदित्तेभिरसुभिरझिरोभिः.. (४)
The divine milk-curd, the first of the nourishing foods, becomes the sustenance of all beings. The sun, rising with its radiant rays, awakens them with life-giving breath.
सभी अश्नों में प्रमुख, शीघ्रगामी एवं गतिशील दधिका जानने योग्य बातों को भली प्रकार जानकर उषा, सूर्य, आदित्यौ, वसुओं और अंगिराओं के साथ सहमत होकर बैठते हैं. (४)

आ नो दधिकाः पथायामनक्तृतस्य पन्यामन्वेतवा उ। शुणोतु नो दैव्यं शर्थो अग्निः श्रुवन्तु विश्वे महिषा अमूराः.. (५)
May the divine path be illuminated for us, and may we follow the righteous way. May the celestial beings, the gods, and all the great ones hear our prayers.
आ नो दधिका: पथायामनक्तृतस्य पन्यामन्वेतवा उ। शुणोतु नो दैव्यं शर्थो अग्निः श्रुवन्तु विश्वे महिषा अमूराः.. (५)

आ देवो यातु सविता सुरल्नोऽन्तरिक्षप्रं वहमानो अश्वैः। हस्ते दघानो नयां पुरुषणि निवेशयज् जसुवज् भूम.. (१)
May the divine, radiant Savitr, the bestower of light, come forth, carrying all beings with his swift horses. Holding the reins of power, he establishes all creatures in their rightful places upon the earth.
शोभनर्नों से युक्त, अपने तेज से अंतरिक्ष को पूर्ण करने वाले एवं अपने घोड़ों द्वारा ढोए जाते हुए सविता देव अनेक मानवहितकारी धनों को हाथ में धारण करते हैं. वे प्राणियों को स्थापित करते हैं एवं कर्म में लगाते हैं. वे यहां आवें. (१)

उदयस्य बाहु शिथिरा बृहन्ता हिरण्यया दिवो अन्तों अनष्टाभम्। नून्नं सो अस्य महिमा पष्णि सूयश्रिद्दस्मा अनु दादपस्याम्.. (२)
The sun's mighty, golden arms, stretching to the sky's end, are unfettered. Truly, this is its glory, a radiant splendor that nourishes all.
दान के निमित्त फैलाई हुई, विशाल एवं सोने की भुजाओं को सविता देव अंतरिक्ष में व्याप्त करें. हम सविता की उसी महिमा की आज प्रशंसा कर रहे हैं. सूर्य भी सविता को कर्म की इच्छा दें. (२)

स घा नो देवः सविता सहावा साविवृद्धसुपत्तिर्वसूनि। विश्यमाणो अमतिमुरूचीं मतभोजनमध रास्तते नः.. (३)
May that divine Savitr, the bestower of strength and prosperity, grant us abundant wealth. As He pervades all, may He bestow upon us the nourishment of wisdom and sustenance.
तेजस्वी व धनों के पालक सविता देव हमारे लिए सब ओर से धनों को प्रेरित करते हैं, वे विस्तीर्ण गति वाले रूप को धारण करते हुए इस समय हमें मानवों के भोग में आने वाला धन दें. (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
इमा गिरः सवितारं सुजिहृं पूर्णगर्भस्तिमित्ते सुपाणिम्। चित्रं वयो बृहद्स्मे दधातु यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (४)
May Savitr, the benevolent and all-pervading, the one with perfect hands, bestow upon us abundant nourishment and strength. May you, O divine powers, always protect us with well-being.
ये वाणियां शोभनजिह्वा वाले, संपूर्ण धनयुक्त एवं शोभनपाणि वाले सविता की स्तुति करती हैं. वे हमें विचित्र एवं महान् धन दें. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारा सदा पालन करो. (४)

agniṁ sumnāya dadhire puro janā vājaśravasam iha vṛktabarhiṣaḥ | yatasrucaḥ surucaṁ viśvadevyaṁ rudraṁ yajñānāṁ sādhadiṣṭim apasām

pāvakaśoce tava hi kṣayam pari hotar yajñeṣu vṛktabarhiṣo naraḥ | agne duva icchamānāsa āpyam upāsate draviṇaṁ dhehi tebhyaḥ

सहस्रशृङ्गो वृषभो यः समुद्रादुदाचरत्। तेना सहस्येना वयं नि जनान्त्स्वापयामसि..(७)
By the powerful bull with a thousand horns, who emerged from the ocean, we shall put all people to sleep.
हजार किरणों वाले जो कामवर्षक सूर्य समुद्र से उदय होते हैं, उनकी सहायता से हम सब लोगों को सुला देंगे.(७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
प्रोभ्भेशया वह्हीशया नारीयास्तल्पशीवरीः। स्त्रियो याः पुणयगान्धास्ताः सर्वाः स्वापयामसि..(८)
We awaken all women who are pure in their essence, like the fragrance of flowers, and who are devoted to their husbands.
जो स्त्रियां आंगन में सोने वाली, सवारी पर सोने वाली, चारपाई पर सोने वाली एवं गंध वाली हैं, उन सबको हम सुला देंगे.(८)
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
सनेन्यस्मस्मह्युयोत दिधं मा वो दुर्मतिरिह प्रपन्नः.. (९)
May no evil intention or ill-will approach those who have taken refuge in You.
हे मरुतो! पुराने आयुध हमारे पास से अलग करो. तुम्हारी क्रूरमति हमें व्याप्त न करे.
Mandala 3 · Verse 10
प्रिया वो नाम हुवे तुराणामा यत्कृपन्नरुतो वावशानाः.. (१०)
May we invoke you, O powerful one, who are swift to hear and grant our desires.
हे शीघ्रता करने वाले मरुतो! तुम्हारे प्यारे नाम हम पुकारते हैं. अभिलाषापूरक मरुगण इससे तृप्त होते हैं. (१०)

स्वायुधास इष्भिण: सुनिष्का उत् स्वयं तन्वश्च: शुभ्भमानाः.. (११)
Adorned with their own weapons and arrows, shining brightly, they move with their own bodies.
शोभन आयुधों वाले, गतिशील एवं सुंदर अलंकारों वाले मरुगण अपने शरीरों को सजाते हैं. (११)
Mandala 3 · Verse 12
शुची वो हव्या मरुतः शुचीनां शुचिं हिनोभ्यध्वरं शुचिभ्यः. ऋतेन सत्यमृतसाप आयञ्छुचिन्जनमान: शुचय: पावका:.. (१२)
May the pure Maruts, who are pure and purifying, carry our pure oblations to the pure sacrificers, through truth and righteous order.
हे मरुतो! तुम शुद्धों के लिए शुद्ध हव्य हो. तुम शुद्धों के लिए मैं शुद्ध यज करता हूं.
Mandala 3 · Verse 13
अंसेष्वा मरुतः खाद्यो वो वक्षःसु रुक्मा उपशिश्रियाणाः । वि विद्युतो न वृष्भि रुचाना अनु स्वधामायुधैर्यच्छमानाः.. (१३)
The Maruts, strong and radiant like lightning, adorn your shoulders with golden armor, bestowing strength and weapons.
Mandala 3 · Verse 14
प्र बुध्या व ईरते महांसि प्र नामानि प्रयजयस्वस्तिरधम् । सहस्त्रियं दम्यं भ्राममेतं गृहमेधीयं मरुतो जुषध्वम्. (१४)
O Maruts, be pleased with this thousand-fold, tamed, and moving offering, the household sacrifice. May great deeds be performed by the awakened, and may you bestow auspiciousness.
Mandala 3 · Verse 15
यदि स्तुतस्य मरुतो अधीथेत्वा विप्रस्य वाजिनो हवीमन् । मधू रायः सुवीर्यस्य दात नू चिद्यमन्य आदभ्दरावा.. (१५)
May the Maruts, the swift and powerful, who are praised and receive offerings, bestow upon us abundant wealth and heroic strength, for no one can obstruct their gifts.
Mandala 3 · Verse 1
प्र साक्मुक्षे अर्चता गणा य ो देवस्य धामन्-स्तविष्षान्. उत शोदन्ति रोदसी महित्वा नश्नन्ते नाकं निर्ऋतेरवंशान्.. (१)
The divine hosts, worshipping, praise the Lord's abode, and with His greatness, they purify the heavens and earth, escaping the bonds of misfortune.
हे स्तोताओं! तुम सदा वर्षा करने वाले मरुद्गण की पूजा करो. वे देवस्थान स्वर्ग में सबसे अधिक बुद्धिमान हैं. वे अपनी महिमा से द्यावा-पृथ्वी को भी भग्न कर देते हैं. वे स्वर्ग को धरती और अंतरिक्ष की अपेक्षा अधिक व्याप्त बना देते हैं. (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
जनुष्षिद्दो मरुस्तवेष्योण भीमास्तस्तुविमन्ववोऽयास्ः. प्र यं महोभिरोजसोत सन्ति विश्वो वो यामन-भयते स्वर्दृक्.. (२)
The mighty Maruts, whose strength is like the wind, are praised by the wise. Their brilliance shines forth, filling all with awe and dispelling fear.
हे भयानक, अधिक बुद्धि वाले एवं गतिशील मरुतो! तुम्हारा जन्म तेज वाले रुद्रों से हुआ है. तुम तेज एवं बल से प्रभावशली हुए हो. तुम्हारे गमन में सूर्य को देखने वाले सब लोग डरते हैं. (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
बृहद्दयो मघवद्दयो दधात् जुजोष्षिन्मरुतः सुश्रुतिं नः. गतो नाध्व वि तिराति जन्तुं प्र णः स्पार्हाभिरुतिभस्तिरेत.. (३)
May the mighty Maruts, bestowers of wealth and strength, grant us excellent hearing and protection. May they, with their desirable succor, never allow any being to be hindered on the path.
हे मरुतो! तुम हव्य धारण करने वाले को बहुत सा अन्न दो एवं हमारी शोभनस्तुति को स्वीकार करो. (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
युष्मतो विप्रं मरुतः शतस्वी युष्मतो अर्वा सहूरिः सहस्री. युष्मतोः सम्राळुत हन्ति वृत्रं प्र तद्वो अस्तु धूतयो देष्णम्.. (४)
May the Maruts, with their hundredfold might, and the swift, thousand-strong Arvan, and the supreme ruler, destroy Vritra for you. May this offering be pleasing to you, O movers.
हे मरुतो! तुम्हारे द्वारा रक्षित स्तोता सैकड़ों धनों का स्वामी होता है. तुम्हारी रक्षा पाकर वह आक्रमण करने वाला, शत्रु-पराजयकारी, साहसी एवं हजारों धनों का स्वामी बनता है. तुम्हारे द्वारा रक्षित होकर वह सम्राट एवं शत्रुहंता बनता है. हे कंपाने वाले मरुतो! तुम्हारा दिया हुआ धन बढ़े. (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
ताँ आ रुद्रस्य मीळ्हुषो विवासं कुविंरंन्ते मरुतः पुनर्नः. यत्सस्वर्ती जिहीळ्ळेरं यदाविरव तदेन ईमहे तुराणाम्.. (५)
The Maruts, with their mighty power, again bring forth the brilliance of Rudra, the showerer of blessings. We invoke them, the swift ones, when they reveal their strength.
मैं अभिलाषापूरक रुद्रों की सेवा करता हूँ. वे कई बार हमारे सामने आवें. जिस महान् पाप से मरुद्गण नाराज होते हैं, वह पाप हम अपने स्तोत्र द्वारा नष्ट कर देंगे. (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
प्र सा वाचि सुष्टुतिमर्धोनामिदं सूक्तं मरुतो जुषन्त. आरचिच्छद्दो वृषणो युयोत यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (६)
May the Maruts, the mighty ones, be pleased with this hymn of praise. May you, O warriors, grant us protection and well-being always.
हमने धनस्वामी मरुतों की शोभनस्तुति इस स्तोत्र में गाई है. वे उसे स्वीकार करें. हे अभिलाषापूरक मरुतो! तुम शत्रुओं को दूर से ही अलग कर दो. तुम अपने कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
इमे दिवो अनिमित्रा पृथिव्याश्रिणित्त्वां सो अचेतसं नयन्ति. प्रब्राजे चिन्चो गाधमस्ते पारं नो अस्य विष्पित्स्य पर्षन्.. (७)
These divine and earthly powers, though seemingly without a cause, lead you, the unthinking one. May the wise one, who has reached the shore of this vast ocean, ferry us across this turbulent expanse.
ये मित्रादि पृथ्वी एवं अंतरिक्ष के प्राणियों को सर्वदा जानते हुए अज्ञानी व्यक्तियों को यज्ञकर्म में प्रेरित करते हैं. इनकी सामर्थ्य से नदी के नीचे गहराई में भी धरातल होता है. ये हमें विस्तृत यज्ञकर्म के पार पहुंचाते हैं. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
यद् गोपावददितिः शर्मं भद्रं मित्रो यच्छन्ति वरुणः सुदासे. तस्मिन्ना तोकं तनयं दधाना मा कर्म देवहेळणं तुरासः.. (८)
May Mitra, Varuna, and the divine powers grant us well-being and prosperity, and may we, with our children and descendants, never incur the displeasure of the gods through our actions.
अर्यमा, मित्र एवं वरुण हृयदाता यजमान को रक्षासाधनों से युक्त एवं कल्याणकारी सुख देते हैं, उसी सुख के साथ हम पुत्र-पौत्रों को धारण करते हुए कोई ऐसा कर्म न करें जो तुम शीघ्रता करने वाले देवों को नाराज कर दे. (८)
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
अव वेदिं होत्राभिरर्जेत रिपः काश्रिद्धरुणधुतं सः. परि ष्णेोभिरर्यमा वृणकृरू सुदासे वृष्णा उ लोकम्.. (९)
With offerings, let the priest purify the altar, and the divine Aryaman, adorned with brilliance, will create a luminous world for the devoted.
Mandala 3 · Verse 10
स्वश्रृद्धिं समृतिस्वेषुष्वामपीच्चेन सहसा सहन्ते. युष्मद्धिद्या वृष्षणो रेजमाना द Lastly चिन्महिन मूळता नः.. (१०)
The wise, enduring all hardships with their own strength, shine brightly, their greatness ever present within them.
इन मित्रादि देवों की संगति निगूढ़ एवं दीप्त होती है. वे अपने छिपे हुए बल से शत्रुओं को पराजित करते हैं. हे अभिलाषापूरक मित्रादि देवो! हमारे विरोधी तुम्हारे डर से कांप जाते हैं. तुम अपने बल के महत्त्व से हमें सुखी बनाओ. (१०)

यो ब्रह्मण्ये सुमतिमायजाते वाजस्य सातो परमसय रायः. सीक्षन्त मन्युं मघवानो अर्य उरु क्षयाय चक्रिरे सुधातु.. (११)
The wise, born of Brahman, seeking the highest wealth, the divine beings, with great effort, established a spacious dwelling for the sustenance of all.
जो यजमान अन्न एवं उत्कृष्ट धन की प्राप्ति के लिए तुम्हारी स्तुति में अपनी शोभनबुद्धि लगाता है, धनस्वामी अर्यमा आदि उसकी स्तुति स्वीकार करते हैं एवं उसके विस्तृत निवास के लिए उत्तम स्थान बनाते हैं. (११)

उद्वां चक्षुर्वंरु सुप्रतीकं देवयोरेति सूर्यस्तन्तवान. अभि यो विश्वा भुवनानि चष्टे स मन्युं मत्त्येष्वा चिकेत.. (१)
The sun, the divine eye, rises with a benevolent countenance, beholding all worlds. It awakens understanding in mortals.
हे द्योतमान मित्र व वरुण! तुम्हारे चक्षु रूप एवं सौंदर्ययुक्त तेज का विस्तार करते हुए उदय होते हैं. जो सूर्य सारे लोकों को देखते हैं, वे मनुष्यों की स्तुतियों को भली प्रकार जानते हैं. (१)

प्र वां स मित्रावरुणावृतावा विप्रो मन्मानि दीर्घश्रु diya. यस्य ब्रह्मण्ये सुकृतू अवाध आ यत्क्रत्वा न शरदः पृणैथे.. (२)
O Mitra and Varuna, the wise singer offers these profound thoughts, for your greatness is vast and your blessings are ever-present, nourishing us through the seasons.
हे मित्र व वरुण! प्रसिद्ध, মেধवी, यज्ञकर्ता एवं चिरकाल तक सुनने वाले वसिष्ठ तुम्हारे लिए स्तुतियां बोलते हैं. शोभनकर्म वाले तुम दोनों उनकी स्तुति की रक्षा करते हो एवं अनेक वर्षों से उनका यज्ञ पूर्ण कर रहे हो. (२)

प्रोरोमिनावरुण पृथिव्याः प्र दिव ऋष्यादबहूतं सुदानू. स्पशो दधाथे ओषधीषु विश्वधुग्मतो अनिमिषं रक्षामाणा.. (३)
O Varuna and Earth, you who are the givers of great gifts, you protect all beings with your watchful eyes, ever vigilant in the plants and the world.
हे मित्र व वरुण! तुमने विस्तृत पृथ्वी एवं गुण तथा रूप के कारण विशाल अंतरिक्ष की परिक्रमा की है. हे शोभनदान वाले देवी! तुम दोनों सत्य पर चलने वाले का सदा पालन करते हुए ओषधियों एवं प्रजा के रूप धारण करते हो. (३)

शंसा मित्रस्य वरुणस्य कम शुष्पो रोदसी बढ्धै महिवा. अयनमासा अयज्चनामवीराः प्र यज्नम्नां वृजनं तिराते.. (४)
The praise of Mitra and Varuna, the mighty ones, fills the heavens and earth. Those who do not offer sacrifices, devoid of strength, are overcome by their greatness.
हे ऋषि! तुम मित्र एवं वरुण के तेज की प्रशंसा करो. उनकी शक्ति अपने महत्त्व के द्वारा द्यावा-पृथिवी को अलग-अलग धारण करती है. यज्ञ न करने वाले के मास बिना पुत्रों के बीतें. यज्ञ के प्रति उनकी बुद्धि बल बढावे. (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
अमूरा विश्वा वृषणोमा वां न यासु चित्रं दृशे न यक्षम्. दूढः सवन्ते अमृता जनानां न वां निष्पान्यन्चिते अभूवन्.. (५)
You two are the boundless, powerful, and radiant ones, whose glory is beyond description and whose might is beyond comprehension. You sustain all beings with your life-giving essence, and your divine power is ever-present and unyielding.
हे मूढ़तारहित, व्यापक एवं अभिलाषापूरक मित्र व वरुण! तुम्हारी स्तुतियों में आश्चर्य एवं आदर दिखाई नहीं देता. अर्थात् तुम्हारी स्तुतियाँ सच्ची हैं. लोगों की झूठी स्तुति तुम्हारे शत्रु स्वीकार करते हैं. तुम्हारे प्रति किए गए स्तोत्र रहस्यपूर्ण होते हुए भी अज्ञान के कारण न बनें. (५)

समु वां यजं मह्यं नमोभिर्हेवं वां मित्रावरुणा सबाधः. प्र वां मन्मान्युचसे नवानि कृतानि ब्रह्म जुजुष्वन्मानि.. (६)
O Mitra and Varuna, we offer you our worship and salutations, seeking your favor. May our hymns and praises, offered with devotion, be pleasing to you.
हे मित्र व वरुण! मैं स्तुतियों के द्वारा तुम्हारे यज्ञ की पूजा करता हूं एवं बाधा के निवारण हेतु तुम्हें बुलाता हूं. मैंने तुम्हारे लिए नए स्तोत्र बनाए हैं. मेरे द्वारा एकत्रित स्तुतियाँ तुम्हें प्रसन्न करें. (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
इयं देव पुरोहितियुर्वभ्यां यज्णेसु मित्रावरुणावकारि. विश्वाणि दुर्गा पिपुर्तं तिरो नो यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (७)
O divine ones, Mitra and Varuna, you are the priests of this sacrifice, who fill all our difficult passages and protect us always with well-being.
इस देव पुरोहितियुर्वभ्यां यज्णेसु मित्रावरुणावकारि. विश्वाणि दुर्गा पिपुर्तं तिरो नो यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
एकस्मिन्योगे भुरणा समाने परि वां सप्त सवतो रथो गत्. न वांयन्ति सुभ्बो देवयुक्ता ये वां धृष्ं तरणयो वहन्ति.. (८)
The chariot of the two, united in one purpose, swiftly carries them forward, for they are divinely favored and eager for worship.
हे भरण-पोषण करने वाले अश्विनीकुमारो! जब तुम एक स्थान पर मिलते हो तो तुम्हारा रथ सात नदियों के पार जाता है. शोभनजन्म वाले एवं दिव्यशक्ति से युक्त तुम्हारे घोड़े तुम्हारे रथ को तेजी से खींचते हैं और कभी नहीं थकते. (८)

असक्षता मधुवद्द्यो हि भूतं ये राया मघदेयं जुन्नन्ति. प्र ये बन्धुं सूतृताभिरिस्तन्ते गव्या पञ्चन्तो अश्व्या मघानि.. (९)
Those who offer gifts with devotion, like honey, to the divine beings, and who, through their good deeds, expand their lineage and wealth, are truly blessed.
आसक्तिरहित तुम दोनों उन लोगों के लिए उत्पन्न हुए हो जो धनी हैं एवं धनप्राप्ति के योग्य हव्य तुम्हें देते हैं, जो सत्य वचनों से अपने बंधुओं को बढ़ाते हैं एवं मांगने वालों को गोधन एवं अश्वधन देते हैं. (९)

नूं मे हवमा शृणुतं युवाना यासिष्ठं वर्तिरश्विनाविरावत्. धन्तं रत्वानि जरतं च सूरीन् यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (१०)
Hear our invocation, O youthful Ashvins, and approach with swift chariot. Bestow upon us wealth and protect us always with well-being.
हे नित्यतरुण अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम आज मेरी पुकार सुनो, हव्ययुक्त घर में आओ, रत्नदान करो एवं स्तोता की उन्नति करो. हे देवो! तुम अपने कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (१०)

O Ashvins, with your strength and brilliance, accept our hymns and offerings, and come to us, young and ever-youthful.
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम दोनों युवा, अपनी शक्ति से, मधुर वाणी से, स्तुतियों को स्वीकार करते हुए, हमारे हव्य को ग्रहण करो।
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
हे दीप्तिमान, सुन्दर अश्वों वाले, शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम अपने भक्त की स्तुतियों की कामना करो और हमारे द्वारा प्रस्तुत हव्य का भक्षण करो। हे अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम्हारे लिए मङ्गलकारी अन्न स्थापित है। तुम हमारा हव्य भक्षण करने के लिए जल्दी आओ। तुम हमारे शत्रुओं की पुकार का तिरस्कार करके हमारी पुकार सुनो। (२)
O radiant Ashvins, possessors of beautiful steeds and slayers of enemies, accept our offerings and listen to our prayers.
हे दीप्ति युक्त, शोभन अश्वों वाले एवं शत्रुहन्ता अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम अपने भक्त की स्तुतियों की कामना करो एवं हमारे द्वारा प्रस्तुत हव्य का भक्षण करो। (१) प्र वाम्-वाम्हि मध्यान्स्थुरं गन्तं हविष्ो वीतये मे. तिरो अर्यो हवनानि श्रुतं नः.. (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
प्र वां रथो मनोजवा इयर्ति तिरो रजांस्थश्विना शतोतिः। अस्मभ्यं सूर्यवासु इयानः.. (३)
Your chariot, swift as thought, O Ashvins, traverses the skies, bringing us the sun's brilliance.
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम्हारा रथ मन के समान तेज चलने वाला एवं सैकड़ों रक्तासाधनों से युक्त रथ हमारी प्रार्थना पर लोगों का तिरस्कार करके हमारे यज्ञ में आता है। (३)

अयं ह यद्रां देवया उ अदि rửaं विवक्ति सोमसुहवभ्याम्। आ वल्ग् विप्रो ववृती हव्यैः.. (४)
This divine being, the radiant one, is invoked by the Soma-drinking gods, and the wise one, adorned with offerings, moves with them.
हे सूर्य के साथ रहने वाले अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम्हारा मन के समान तेज चलने वाला एवं सैकड़ों रक्तासाधनों से युक्त रथ हमारी प्रार्थना पर लोगों का तिरस्कार करके हमारे यज्ञ में आता है। (३) अर्थ है यद्रां देवया उ अदि rửaं विवक्ति सोमसुहवभ्याम्। आ वल्ग् विप्रो ववृती हव्यैः.. (४)

चित्रं ह यद्रां भोजना न्वस्ति न्यत्रये महिष्णन्तं युयोतम्। यो वामोमानं दधते प्रियः सन्.. (५)
The Lord, who is the source of all sustenance, bestows His favor upon those who are dear to Him and who uphold His glory.
चित्र ह यद्रां भोजना न्वस्ति न्यत्रये महिष्णन्तं युयोतम्। यो वामोमानं दधते प्रियः सन्.. (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
उत त्यद्रां जुरते अश्विना भूव्य्वानाय प्रतीत्यं हविर्दैं। अधि यदृष् इतिकृति धत्थः.. (६)
O Ashvins, you accept the offering of the worshipper, who approaches you with devotion, and you are pleased by this act of worship.
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! तुमने अपने स्तुतिकर्ता एवं हव्यदाता वृद्व च्यवन ऋषि को मृत्यु के पास से लाकर जो रूप दिया था, वह प्रसिद्ध है। (६)

उत त्यं भुज्युमश्विना सखायो मध्ये जहुर्दुवासः समुद्रैः। निरों पर्यदवा यो युवानः (७)
The divine Ashvins, as friends, rescued Bhujyu from the ocean, bringing him back to shore.
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
वृकाय चिज्ज्जसमा नाय शक्त्मुत श्रुतं शयवे हव्यमाना. यावभ्यामपि न्तमपो न स्तर्यं चिच्च्क्त्यश्विना शचीभिः.. (८)
The Asvins, with their powers and knowledge, are invoked by those who offer oblations, just as a wolf is drawn to a sacrifice. They are capable of bestowing great strength and protection through their divine might.
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! तुमने क्षण होते हुए वृक ऋषि को अपने कर्म एवं बुद्धि द्वारा धन दिया. पुकार लगाते हुए श्यै की बात तुम्ही ने सुनी और बूढ़ी गाय को जलपूर्ण नदी के समान दुधारू बना दिया. (८)
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
एष स्य कारुर्ज रते सूक्त्ै रये बुधान उषसां सुम्नमा. इषां त वर्धदव्या पयोभियुंै पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (९)
May this divine energy, praised by wise hymns, bestow upon us prosperity and nourishment with the dawn. May it always protect us with blessings and sustenance.
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! यह शोभनबुद्धि वाला स्तोता उषा से पहले ही जागकर सूक्तों द्वारा तुम्हारी स्तुति करता है. उसे अन्न, दूध एवं गायों द्वारा बढ़ाओ. हे देवो! अपने कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (९)
Mandala 3 · Verse 10
ud astambhīt samidhā nākam ṛṣvo3 'gnir bhavann uttamo rocanānām | yadī bhṛgubhyaḥ pari mātariśvā guhā santaṁ havyavāhaṁ samīdhe
O Lords of the chariot, Ashvins, your chariot, veiled in brilliance and drawn by swift steeds, traverses the path. Come to our sacrifice with that chariot at dawn, to dispel our sins and bestow blessings.
हे रथस्वामी अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम्हारा रथ तेज को ढकं ता हुआ घोड़ों की सहायता से मार्ग में चलता है. हे अश्विनीकुमारो! उषाकाल होने पर हमारे पापों के शमन एवं सुखों की प्राप्ति के लिए उस रथ द्वारा हमारे यज्ञ में आओ. (१०)

We invoke you, O divine powers, for sustenance and protection, both day and night, as you illuminate the path for the dawn.
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
उपायात् दाशुषे मर्त्याय रथेन वाममश्विना वहन्ता, युयुत्तमस्मदनिरामर्मीवां दिवा नक्तं माधीं त्रासीथां नः.. (२)
The night recedes from its sister Dawn, and darkness yields to the bright day. O Ashvins, lords of wealth in horse and cow form, we call to you to banish enemies from us, day and night.
रात अपनी बहिन उषः के पास से हट जाती है, काली रात उजले दिन के लिए रास्ता छोड़ती है, हे अश्व एवं गोस्वरूप धनों के स्वामी अश्विनीकुमारो! हम तुम्हें बुलाते हैं, तुम रात-दिन हमारे पास से शत्रुओं को दूर करो। (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
आ वां रथंमस्यां व्यृष्टौ सुम्नायवो वृष्णो वर्त्यन्तु, स्युमगभस्तिमृतयुगिभैरश्वैर्ना वासुमेन्तं वहेयाम्.. (३)
May your chariot, swift and strong, be drawn by horses of divine might, carrying you with grace and power.
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! सुखपूर्वक जोते गए एवं कामवर्षक घोड़े उषःकाल होने पर तुम्हारे रथ को यहां लावें, सुखदायक किरणों वाले एवं धनयुक्त रथ को तुम जल प्रदान करने वाले अश्वों की सहायता से आगे बढ़ाओ। (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
यो वां रथो नृपती अस्थि वोळ्हा त्रिवन्धरू वसुमों उस्रयामा, आ न एना नासत्योप यातमभि यद्धां विश्वरूप्स्यो जिगाति.. (४)
O Asvins, whose chariot, borne by steeds, carries wealth and light, come to us with your divine chariot, for the sun-god's radiant form moves onward.
हे यजमानों का पालन करने वाले अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम्हारा रथ वहन करने वाला, तीन वंधरा वाला, धनयुक्त, दिनभर चलने वाला एवं व्यापक रूप से गतिशील है, मैं उसी रथ द्वारा आने के लिए तुम्हारी स्तुति कर रहा हूं। (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
युवं च्यवानं जरसोऽमुमुक्तं नि पेदव ऊह्युराशुशुभम्, निरहस्तसमसः स्पर्त्तमित्रं नि जाहुषं शिशिरे धातमन्तः.. (५)
You two, having freed Chyavana from old age, swiftly carried him to the waters, and then, with hands joined, embraced him, the friend of Mitra, in the cool embrace of the dawn.
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
इयं मनीषा इयम्अश्विना गिरीमां सुवृक्तिं वृषणा जुषेथाम्. इमा ब्रह्माणि युयुव्यन्मन्युं यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (६)
O Ashvins, accept this praise and this prayer. May you, O powerful ones, protect us always with well-being, dispelling anger and strife.
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम गो, अश्व एवं धन से संपन्न रथ के द्वारा आओ. बहुत सी स्तुतियां तुम्हारी सेवा करती हैं. तुम चाहने योग्य शोभा एवं शरीर से युक्त हो. (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
सत्या सत्योभिर्महती महद्देवि देवेभियर्जता यजत्रैः रुजद् दृढाहानि ददृदुसियाणं प्रति गाव उपस वावशन्त.. (७)
The great Goddess, praised by gods and worshippers, has shattered the firmaments, and the cows have bellowed in praise of her arrival.
सच्ची, महती एवं यज्ञपात्र उषादेवी अन्य सच्चे, महान् एवं यज्ञपात्र देवों के साथ मिलकर दृढ़तर अंधकार का नाश करती है एवं गायों के घूमने हेतु प्रकाश देती है. गाएं उषाओं की कामना करती हैं. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
नू नो गोमदवीरद्धेहि रत्नमुशो अश्ववत्पुरुम्भो अस्मे; मा नो बहिः पुरुषता निदे कर्यूयं पात् स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (८)
Grant us, O Indra, abundant wealth, cattle, horses, and radiant strength. May we never be deprived of your protection, and may you always preserve us with your blessings.
हे उषा! हमें गायों, वीरों एवं अश्वों से युक्त धन दो. तुम हमें बहुत सा अन्न दो. तुम पुरुषों के बीच हमारे यज्ञ की निंदा मत करना. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (८)
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
अस्माकमिनद्रावरुणा भरेभरे पुरोयोधा भवतं कृष्ट्योजसा. यद्रां हवन्त उभे अथ स्पृधि नरस्तोक्स्य तनयस्य सातिषु.. (९)
O Indra and Varuna, be our foremost protectors, endowed with mighty strength. May men, when calling upon you, find victory in the protection of their offspring and progeny.
हे शत्रुओं को खींचने वाली शक्ति से युक्त इंद्र एवं वरुण! तुम प्रत्येक युद्ध में हमारे आगे लड़ने वाले बनो. प्राचीन एवं नवीन दोनों प्रकार के स्तोता पुत्र एवं पौत्र प्राप्ति वाले अवसरों पर तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. (९)
Mandala 3 · Verse 10
अस्मे इन्द्रो वरुणो मित्रो अर्यमा धुम्नं यच्छन्तु महि शर्म सप्रथः. अवध्रं ज्योतिरदितेर्ऋतावृधो देवस्य श्लोकं सवितुर्मनामहे.. (१०)
May Indra, Varuna, Mitra, and Aryama grant us abundant glory and vast protection. We praise the unfading light of Aditi, the increaser of truth, and the divine song of Savitr.
इंद्र, वरुण, मित्र एवं अर्यमा हमें धन एवं परम विस्तृत घर दें. यज की वृद्धि करने वाली अदिति की ज्योति हमारे लिए हानिकारक न हो. हम सविता देव की स्तुति करें. (१०)

आ वां राजानावध्वरे ववृत्यां हव्येभिरिन्द्रावरुणा नमोभिः। प्र वां घृचाची बाह्योर्दधाना परि त्मना विषूरूपा जिगाति.. (११)
O Indra and Varuna, we approach you with offerings and salutations at the sacrifice. May your divine power, adorned with praise, encompass us completely.
हे सुशोभित इन्द्र व वरुण! मैं इस यज्ञ में अन्न एवं स्तुतियों द्वारा तुम्हें बार-बार बुलाता हूं. हाथों में पकड़ी हुई व विविध रूप वाली जुहू (घी का चमचा) अपने आप तुम्हारी ओर जाती है. (११)

आपश्चिद्धि स्वयशसः सदःसु देवीरिन्द्रं वरुणों देवता धुः। कृचीरन्यो धारयति प्रवित्ता वृत्राण्यन्यो अप्रतीनि हन्ति.. (३)
The divine waters, renowned for their glory, nourish Indra and Varuna. One sustains the difficult paths, while another destroys formidable obstacles.
जिनकी कीर्ति यश से युक्त है, वे देवगण इन्द्र और वरुण हैं। एक (इन्द्र) वृत्र को मारता है और दूसरा (वरुण) जल को धारण करता है।
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
स सुकृतंऋतचिदस्तु होता य आदित्य शक्सा वां नमस्वान्। आवर्तदंसे वां हविष्मनासदित्स सुविताय प्रयस्वान्.. (४)
May the offering priest, who is the knower of truth, be well-pleased with you, O Adityas, who are worthy of worship. May you, who are full of offerings and sustenance, be pleased with us for the sake of prosperity.
हे आदित्यपुत्र इन्द्र और वरुण! जो नमस्कार के द्वारा तुम्हारी सेवा करता है, वही होता शोभन कर्मवाला एवं यज्ञादाता हो, जो व्यक्ति हव्ययुक्त होकर तुम्हें बार-बार बुलाता है, वह यजमान अन्न का स्वामी होकर फल पाने वाला बने. (४)

इयमिन्द्रं वरुणमृह मे गीः: प्रावन्तोके तनये तुतुजाना। सुरत्नासो देववीतिं गमेम यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (५)
May these hymns, O Indra and Varuna, protect us, strengthening our progeny. May we, adorned with excellent gifts, reach the divine assembly; may you always protect us with blessings.
मेरी यह स्तुति इन्द्र एवं वरुण के पास पहुँचे, मेरी स्तुति पुत्र एवं पौत्र की रक्षा का कारण बने। हम शोभनरत्न वाले होकर यज्ञ प्राप्त करें। हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (५)

No strength, no skill, no steadfastness, no power, no anger, no divider, no protector is truly our own. There is a greater and a lesser, and He is the giver of all, the answerer of all questions.
हे वरुण! वह पाप हमारे बल के कारण नहीं है. प्रमाद, क्रोध, जुआ अथवा अज्ञान के रूप में देवगति ही उसका कारण है. छोटे को पाप की ओर प्रवृत्त करने में बड़ा कारण बनता है. स्वप्न भी पाप से मिलाने वाला है. (६)

अरं दासो न मीढुषे करण्यं देवाथ भूयोऽमिनागा:. अचेतयद्चितो देवो अयो गृत्सं रायै कवितरो जुनाति.. (७)
The wise god, the best of poets, awakens the mind and brings forth abundant wealth, for no one can truly serve the giver of rain.
मैं पापरहित होकर अभिलाषापूर्वक एवं विश्वपालक वरुण की सेवा दास के समान पर्योत्पन्न में करूंगा. सबके स्वामी वरुण देव, मुझे ज्ञानरहित को ज्ञान संपत्र करें. अतिशय विद्वान् वरुण स्तोता को धन पाने के लिए प्रेरित करें. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
अयं सु तुभ्यं वरुण स्वधावो हृदि स्तोम उपभ्रिथश्रिद्धस्तु. शं न: क्षेमे शमु योगे नो अस्तु यूयं पात स्वस्तिभि: सदा न:.. (८)
May this hymn, O Varuna, be pleasing to you, offered with devotion. May it bring us peace in our homes and in our union; protect us always with well-being.
हे अन्नस्वामी वरुण! तुम्हारे निमित्त बनाया हुआ यह स्तोत्र तुम्हारे मन में समा जाए. हमारा क्षेत्र और योग मंगलमय हो. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो.
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
अथा नस्य सन्दृशं जगन्वानग्नेरनीकं वरुणस्य मसि. स्वर्यर्दश्मनधिपा उ अन्थोऽभि मा वपुर्दृशये निनियात्.. (९)
May the radiant, all-pervading divine presence, like the fire's brilliance and Varuna's majesty, draw me towards its vision.
मैं इस समय शीघ्रता से वरुण के दर्शन करके अग्नि की ज्वालाओं की स्तुति करता हूँ. जिस समय वरुण पत्थरों की सहायता से निचोड़े गए शोभन सोमरस को अधिक मात्रा में पी लेते हैं, उस समय मुझे अपने शोभनरथ के दर्शन कराते हैं. (९)
Mandala 3 · Verse 10
आ यदृहाव वरुणश्च नाव प्र यत्समुद्रीययाव मध्यम्. अधि यदपां स्तुभिश्शराव प्र प्रेङख ईडखयावहे शुभे कम्.. (१०)
O Varuna, when you traverse the ocean's depths, we praise your divine might and seek your benevolent grace.
जिस समय मैं और वरुण नाव पर सवार हुए थे, नाव को हमने सागर के बीच चलाया था एवं जल पर तैरती हुई नाव पर हम थे, उस समय हमने नाव रूपी झूले पर सुख के निमित्त क्रीड़ा की थी. (१०)
Mandala 3 · Verse 11
वसिष्ठ ह वरुणो नाव्यादादृषिं चकार स्वपा महोभिः. स्तोतारं विप्रः सुदिन्त्वे अह्वां यानु द्यावस्ततनन्यादुषासः.. (११)
The wise Vasistha, by his own great power, protected Varuna, and the seer. The priest, in the bright days, praised the dawns that have spread forth.
मेधावी वरुण ने रात एवं दिन का विस्तार करते हुए उत्तम दिनों में स्तोता मुझ वसिष्ठ को नाव पर चढ़ाया था एवं रक्षासाधनों द्वारा शोभनकर्म वाला बनाया था. (११)
Mandala 3 · Verse 1
प्र वीर्या शुच्यो दद्विरे वाममध्युर्भिमधुम्नतः सुतासः. वह वायो नियुतो याह्यच्छा पिबा सुतस्यान्धसो मदाय.. (१)
O Vayu, come with your companions, drink the sweet Soma juice, and be gladdened by its intoxicating essence.
हे वीर वायु! अर्यगण द्वारा तुम्हारे लिए शुद्ध एवं मधुर सोम रस दिया जाता है. तुम अपने घोड़ों को रथ में जोड़ो, हमारे सामने आओ एवं मादकता के हेतु हमारा निचोड़ा हुआ सोमरस पियो. (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
ईशनाय प्रहृति यस्त आनद् शुचिं सोमं शुचिपान्स्तभ्यं वायो. कृणोषि तं मर्त्येषु प्रशस्तं जातोजातो जायते वाजस्य.. (२)
He who offers pure Soma to the Lord, the purifier of the pure, to you, O Vayu, makes him praised among mortals, and from him, born of birth, arises abundance.
हे सबके स्वामी वायु! तुम्हें जो उत्तम आहुति देता है एवं हे सोपानकर्त्ता वायु! जो तुम्हें पवित्र सोमरस देता है, उसे तुम सभी मनुष्यों में प्रसिद्ध बनाते हो. वह सर्वत्र प्रसिद्ध होकर धन का पात्र बनता है. (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
राये नु यं जज्ञतु रोदसीमे राये देवी धिषणं धाति देवम्. अध वायुं नियुतः सख्रत स्वा उत श्वेत्तं वसुष्ठिते निरके.. (३)
The two worlds gave birth to him for wealth, and the divine intellect sustains the god for wealth. Then, the wind, united with the gods, brings forth the white, dwelling in the chariot.
इस द्यावा-पृथिवी ने वायु को धन के लिए उत्पन्न किया है एवं प्रकाशयुक्त स्तुति धन के लिए ही वायु देव को धारण करती है. इस समय वायु के अश्व उनकी सेवा करते हैं एवं दरिद्रता की स्थिति में वे घोड़े धनप्रदाता वायु को हमारे यज्ञ में लाते हैं. (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
उच्चनुषसः सुदिना अरिप्र उरु ज्योर्तिविर्दुर्द्ध्योधानाः. गव्यं चिदंमुशिजो वि ववृतेषामनु प्रदिवः ससुरपः.. (४)
The bright dawns, free from darkness, have revealed their radiant light. The wise have embraced this divine illumination, which shines forth with the sun.
शोभन दिन लाने वाली पापरहित उषाएं अंधकार मिटाएं एवं दीप्तिसंपन्न होकर वायु की कृपा से विस्तृत प्रकाश पायें. वायु की स्तुति करने वाले अंगिराओं ने गोधन प्राप्त किया. प्राचीन जल अंगिराओं के पीछे बहे. (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
इन्द्रावायुं र्थी वामीशानयोर्भिः प्रृक्षः सचन्ते.. (५)
The two divine beings, Indra and Vayu, are invoked by the wise, who seek their favor and protection.
हे सबके स्वामी इंद्र एवं वायु! प्रसिद्ध यजमान सच्चे मन से स्तुति करते हुए एवं दीप्तिसंपन्न बनकर अपने कर्मों द्वारा तुम्हारे उस रथ को अपने यज्ञों में खींचते हैं, जो वीरों द्वारा खींचने योग्य है. यज्ञ में हव्यरूप अन्न तुम्हारी सेवा करते हैं. (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
ईशानासो ये दधते स्वर्णां गोभिरश्र्भिसुभिर्हर्यैः। इन्द्रावायुं सूर्यो विश्वमायुर्द्धिर्विरेः पूतनासु सहुः.. (६)
The divine rulers, adorned with golden brilliance and swift steeds, sustain all life with their radiant energy. They bestow the vital force of the sun, bringing forth sustenance and prosperity.
हे इंद्र एवं वायु! जो सामर्थ्य वाले लोग हमें गांवों, घोड़ों, निवासस्थानों एवं स्वर्ण आदि धन के साथ सुख देते हैं, वे ही दाता युद्ध में घोड़ों एवं वीर पुरुषों की सहायता के सर्वत्र व्याप्त अन्न जीत लेते हैं. (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
अर्हन्तो न श्रवसो भिक्षामाणा इन्द्रावायुं सुकृतिभिसिद्धाः। वाजयनन्तः स्ववसे हुवेम यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (७)
We invoke Indra and Vayu, the worthy and blessed by good deeds, who are praised and nourished for their own sustenance. May you always protect us with well-being.
घोड़ों के समान हव्य-वहन करने वाले, अन्न की प्रार्थना करने वाले एवं बल के इच्छुक वसिष्ठगण शोभनरक्षा के निमित्त उत्तम स्तुतियों द्वारा इंद्र एवं वायु को बुलाते हैं. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी रक्षा करो. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
एता अग्न आशुषाणास इष्टीर्युवोः सचाऽभश्याम वाजान्, मेन्द्रो नो विष्णुर्मरुतः परि खन्युंPAT स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः..(८)
May these swift offerings, pleasing to the gods, bring us strength and nourishment, and may Indra, Vishnu, and the Maruts protect us always with well-being.
हे अग्नि! शीघ्रतापूर्वक इस यज्ञ का सहारा लेते हुए हम एक साथ तुम्हारे द्वारा दिया हुआ अन्न प्राप्त करें. इंद्र, विष्णु एवं मरुद्गण हमें त्यागकर दूसरे को न देखें. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा सदा हमारी रक्षा करो. (८)

इयं वामस्य मन्मन इन्द्राग्नी पूर्वस्तुतिः अभृदवष्टि rửaजनि.. (९)
This is the first praise of Indra and Agni, the mind's desire, which has been brought forth and is pleasing.
हे इंद्र एवं अग्नि! इस स्तोता से यह उत्तम स्तुति उसी प्रकार उत्पन्न हुई है, जिस प्रकार बादल से वर्षा होती है. (९)
Mandala 3 · Verse 10
यत्सोम आ सुते नर इन्द्राग्नी अजोहवुः. सप्तीवन्ता सपर्यवः.. (१०)
When Soma is pressed, Indra and Agni are invoked by men, who, with their steeds, worship them.
सोमरस निचूड जाने पर यज्ञकर्म के नेता जनसेवा की अभिलाषा से उत्तम घोड़ों वाले इंद्र एवं अग्नि को बार-बार बुलाते हैं. (१०)

उक्थैर्भिर्वृहन्तमा या मन्दाना चिदा गिरा. आङ्गिषैर्आविवासत:.. (११)
You are praised with hymns and songs, O Agni, and are invoked with the Angirasa chants.
हम उक्थों, स्तुतियों एवं स्तोत्रों द्वारा शत्रुनाशकों में श्रेष्ठ एवं अतिशय प्रसन्न इंद्र एवं अग्नि की सेवा करते हैं. (११)

प्र क्षोदसा धायसा सस्र एषा सरस्वती धरुणमायसी पूः. प्रबाधना रभ्यै याति विश्वा अपो महिमा सिन्धुरन्या.. (१)
The mighty river Sarasvati, flowing with abundant nourishment, is a strong, iron fortress. She advances, conquering all waters, her greatness unmatched.
यह सरस्वती नदी लोहे के द्वारा बनी नगरी के समान सबको धारण करती हुई प्राणघातक जल के साथ बहती है, जिस प्रकार सारथि सबको पीछे छोड़कर आगे निकल जाता है, उसी प्रकार यह अपनी महिमा द्वारा सब जलपूर्ण नदियों को बाधा देकर आगे बढ़ती है. (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
एकाचेतस्सरस्वती नदीनां शुचियर्ती गिरिभ्य आ समुद्रात्. भुवनस्य भूरेर्धृतं पयो दुदुहे नाहुषाय.. (२)
The pure Sarasvati, flowing from the mountains to the sea, nourished the world with her abundant waters, bestowing sustenance upon humanity.
सभी नदियों में पवित्र एवं पर्वत से निकलकर सागर तक जाने वाली सरस्वती नदी ने ही केवल राजा नहुष की प्रार्थना को समझा। सरस्वती ने नहुष को सारे संसार का पर्याप्त धन प्रदान करके दूध का दोहन किया था। (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
स वावृधे नर्यो योषणासु वृषा शिशुर्विषो यज्यासु। स वाजिनं मघवद्धयो दधाति वि सातये तन्वं मामजीत्.. (३)
He grows strong among women, a bull-calf, a potent one among the sacrificers. The powerful one, the giver of wealth, bestows a swift body for victory.
मानवों का हित एवं वर्षा करने वाले सरस्वन् नाम्क वायु यज के योग्य स्त्री अर्थात् जरासूह के बीच वृद्धि को प्राप्त हुए। वे हव्य धारण करने वाले यजमानों को शक्तिशाली संतान देते हैं एवं उनके कल्याण के लिए शरीर का संस्कार करते हैं। (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
उत स्या नः सरस्वती जुषाणोप श्रवत् सुभगा यज्ञे अस्मिन्। मितसुर्भिर्मस्मस्यैरयाना राया युजा चिदूतरा सखिभ्यः.. (४)
May Saraswati, the bestower of fortune, graciously accept this sacrifice, and may she listen to our prayers, bringing prosperity to us and our friends.
शोभनधन वाली सरस्वती प्रसन्न होकर इस यज्ञ में हमारी स्तुति सुनें। घुटने टेककर समीप जाने वाले देवों से युक्त सरस्वती धन से नित्य संपन्न होकर अपने मित्रों के लिए क्रमशः दया वाली बनें। (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
इमा जुह्वान युष्मदा नमोभिः प्रति स्तोमं सरस्वती जुषस्व. तव शर्मन्प्रियतमे दधाना उपस्थेयाम शरणं न वृक्ष्म.. (५)
O Sarasvati, accept our offerings and praises with favor. May we, dwelling in Your most beloved protection, find refuge and shelter in Your presence.
हे सरस्वती! इस यज्ञ का हवन करते हुए हम लोग स्तुतियों द्वारा तुमसे धन प्राप्त करेंगे। तुम हमारी स्तुति स्वीकार करो। हम तुम्हारे सर्वाधिक प्रिय घर में रहते हुए तुम्हारे साथ इस प्रकार मिलेंगे, जिस प्रकार पक्षी अपने आश्रयस्थल वृक्ष से मिलते हैं। (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
अयम ते सरस्वती वसिष्ठो द्वारावृतस्य सुभगे व्यावः. वर्धं शुभ्रे स्तुवते रासि वाजान् पूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (६)
O Saraswati, dwelling in this sacred space, bestow upon us, the devoted, abundant nourishment and strength, and always protect us with well-being.
हे शोभनधन वाली सरस्वती! यह वसिष्ठ तुम्हारे लिए यज्ञ के द्वार खोलता है। हे उज्ज्वल वर्ण वाली सरस्वती देवी! तुम वृद्धि प्राप्त करो एवं स्तोता को अन्न दो। हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारा सदा पालन करो। (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
बृहदु गायिषे वचोऽसुर्या नदीनाम्. सरस्वतीन्-महेया सुवृतिभिः स्तोमैवसिष्ठ रोदसी.. (७)
Sing forth a mighty hymn, O Sarasvati, mother of rivers, with your glorious streams and praises, you who sustain the heavens and the earth.
हे वसिष्ठ! तुम नदियों में सर्वाधिक शक्तिशाली सरस्वती के लिए स्तोत्र का गान करो एवं द्यावा-पृथिवी में स्थित सरस्वती की पूजा दोषहीन स्तोत्रों द्वारा करो। (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
देवी देवस्य रोदसी जनित्री बृहस्पतिं वावधतुर्महित्वा. दक्षय्याय दक्षता सखायः करद् ब्रह्मणै सुतरा सुगाधा.. (८)
The divine mother, the creator of heaven and earth, gloriously sustains the divine father. May the wise friends, with their strength and wisdom, grant us a prosperous and well-navigated path.
बृहस्पति देव को उत्पन्न करने वाली द्यावा-पृथिवीरूप देवी अपनी महिमा से उन्हें बढ़ावें। हे मित्रो! तुम भी बढ़ाने योग्य बृहस्पति को बढ़ाओ। उन्होंने अन्नवृद्धि के लिए सुख से तरण करने योग्य एवं स्नानक्षम जल को बनाया है। (८)
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
इयं वां ब्रह्मन्पते सुवृक्तिर्ब्रह्मोन्द्राय वज्रिणे अकारि. अविष्ठ धियो जिगृतं पुरन्धीर्जस्तमर्थं वणुभामरातिः.. (९)
O Lord of Brahman, this well-formed hymn is made for you, Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt. May our thoughts and understanding be protected, and may we, with strength, embrace that which is worthy.
हे ब्राह्मणस्पति! मैंने यह शोभन वचनरूपी स्तुति तुम्हारे एवं वज्रधारी इंद्र के लिए बनाई है, तुम हमारे यज्ञों की रक्षा करो, अनेक स्तुतियां सुनो एवं हम भक्तों पर आक्रमण करने वाली शत्रुसेना का नाश करो। (९)
Mandala 3 · Verse 1
अश्वयर्воऽरुणं दुग्धमंशुं जुहोतन वृष्भाय क्षितीनाम्. गौराध्दीयाँ अवपानमिन्द्रो विश्वाहेधाति सुतसोममिच्छन्.. (१)
Offer the reddish milk of the horse, O strong ones, to Indra, the lord of earth, who desires the pressed Soma juice for all days.
हे अध्वर्यु लोगो! मानवों में श्रेष्ठ इंद्र के लिए रुचिकर एवं निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को भेंट करो. गौरमुग दूर स्थित जल को जानकर जिस तेजी से आता है, इंद्र पीने योग्य सोम का ज्ञान होने पर सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले यजमान को खोजते हुए उससे भी तेजी से आते हैं. (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
यदृषिषे प्रदिदिं चार्वाचं दिदिदेवे पीतिमिदस्य वक्षः. उत हृदोत मनसा जुषाण उशन्निन्द्रं प्रस्थितान् पाहि सोमान्.. (२)
May Indra, who is radiant and beloved, accept these Soma offerings, which are pleasing to the heart and mind, and protect us as we approach him.
हे इंद्र! बीते हुए दिनों में जिस शोभन अन्नरूप सोम को तुम धारण करते थे, अब भी प्रतिदिन उसी सोम को पीने की अभिलाषा करो. हे इंद्र! तुम हृदय एवं मन से हमारे कल्याण की कामना करते हुए सम्मुख रखे सोम को पियो. (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
ज्ञानः सोमं सहसे पपाथ प्र ते माता महिमानमुवाच. एन्द्र पप्राथोर्श्-अन्तिरक्षं युधा देवेभ्यो वरिवश्र्क.. (३)
The wise one drank Soma with strength, and his mother proclaimed his greatness. O Indra, you filled the sky and earth, and by your might, you brought prosperity to the gods.
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
यद्योघया महतो मन्यमानान्साक्षां तान् बाहुभिः शशदादानान् । यद्रा नृभिर्वृत इन्द्राभिभ्युयास्तं त्वयाजि सौभ्रवसं जयेम ॥ (४)
May we, by your grace, O Indra, conquer those who, in their arrogance, consider themselves great and powerful, and who are supported by their own strength.
हे इंद्र! अपने आपको बड़ा मानने वाले योद्धाओं के साथ तुम जब हमारा युद्ध कराओगे, तब उन हिंसक शत्रुओं को हम हाथों से ही हरा देंगे। हे इंद्र! यदि मरुतों को साथ लेकर तुम स्वयं युद्ध करोगे, तो हम तुम्हारी सहायता से उस शोभन अन्नप्राप्ति वाले युद्ध में विजय पाएंगे। (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
प्रेन्द्रस्य वोचं प्रथमा कृतानि प्र नूतना मधवा या चकार । यददेदवीरसहिव माया अथाभवत्केवलः सोमो अस्य.. (५)
The divine Soma, having performed his first and new deeds, became alone, for the powerful Indra was unable to grasp his intoxicating essence.
मैं इंद्र के प्राचीन कार्यों का वर्णन करता हूं. इंद्र ने जो नए कार्य किए हैं, मैं उन्हें भी कहता हूं. इंद्र ने असुरों की मायाओं को पराजित किया है, इसलिए सोमरस केवल इंद्र के लिए ही है. (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
तवेदं विश्वमभितः पश्यं यत्पश्यसि चक्षसा सूर्यस्य । गवामसि गो密तिरेक इन्द्र भक्ष्भीमहि ते प्रयत्नस्य वस्वः.. (६)
Seeing this universe all around with your eyes, O Indra, you are the essence of cows and their abundance. May we partake of your bountiful offerings.
हे इंद्र! प्राणियों के लिए हितकारक विश्व चारों ओर स्थित है. उसे तुम सूर्य के प्रकाश की सहायता से देखते हो. यह विश्व तुम्हारा ही है. एकमात्र तुम्ही गायों के स्वामी हो. हम तुम्हारे द्वारा दिया हुआ धन भोगते हैं. (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
हे बृहस्पति! तुम एवं इंद्र दोनों प्रकार के पार्थिव एवं दिव्य धन के स्वामी हो. इसलिए तुम स्तुतिकर्ता को धन देते हो. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारा सदा पालन करो. (७)
O Brihaspati and Indra, you who rule over the celestial and earthly realms, grant us wealth and protection with blessings, always.
बृहस्पते युवमिन्द्रश्च वसो दिव् यस्येशे था उ त पार्थिवस्य । धन्तं रयिं स्तवते कीरिये चिद्यं पातं स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः.. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
ब्राझणासः सोमिनो वाचमक्रत ब्रह्म कृण्वन्तः परित्सरीणम् । अध्वर्यवो धर्मिणः सिष्षिदाना आविर्भवन्ति गुह्या न के चित् ॥ (८)
The Brahmanas, performing the Soma sacrifice, uttered the sacred word, creating the all-pervading Brahman. The Adhvaryus, upholding Dharma, revealed hidden truths, leaving no secret undiscovered.
ये मेंढक उसी प्रकार बोलते हैं, जिस प्रकार सोम रस धारण करने वाले स्तोता वार्षिक स्तुति करते हैं। प्रवर्ग का आचरण करने वाले ऋत्विजों के समान धूप से गीले शरीर वाले एवं बिलों में छिपे हुए मेंढक प्रकट होते हैं। (८)
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
देवहिते जुगुपुर्दृशस्य ऋतूं नरो न प्र मिन्यते । संवत्सरं प्रावृष्यागतायां तप्ता धर्मा अभुवते विसर्गम् ॥ (९)
When the rains arrive, the wise, devoted to the divine, diligently observe the seasons, and the earth, warmed by the downpour, brings forth new life.
देवहिति जुगुपुर्दृशस्य ऋतूं नरो न प्र मिन्यते। संवत्सरं प्रावृष्यागतायां तप्ता धर्मा अभुवते विसर्गम्॥ (९) नेताओं के समान ये मेंढक देव निर्मित नियमों का पालन करते हैं तथा बारह महीनों के रूप में आने वाली ऋतओं को नष्ट नहीं करते। एक वर्ष बीतने पर जब वर्षा आती है तो गर्मी के ताप से दुःखी मेंढक गढ्ढों से बाहर निकलते हैं। (९)

इन्द्रासोमा तपतं रक्ष उज्जातं नृपर्येत वृषणा तमोवधः । परा शृणीतमचिनो न्योषतं हतं नुदेथां नि शिशीतमत्रिनः ॥ (१)
O Indra and Soma, burn away the wicked, and destroy the darkness that arises. Strike down the unholy and the enemies, and sharpen your weapons against them.
हे इंद्र तथा सोम! तुम राक्षसों को कष्ट दो तथा उनको नष्ट करो। तुम अंधकार में बढने वाले राक्षसों को नीचे गिराओ। तुम अज्ञानी राक्षसों को परांमुख करके नष्ट करो, जलाओ, मारो, फेंक दो एवं मनुष्यभक्षी राक्षसों को घायल करो। (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
इन्द्रासोमा समधर्शनसम्भश्यं तप宇र्यस्तु चरग्निवाँ इव । ब्रह्मद्विषे कव्यादे घोरचक्षसे द्वेषो धतमनवायं किमिदिने ॥ (२)
May Indra and Soma, who are united in their divine power, protect us from the hateful, flesh-eating, and terrifyingly-eyed enemy.
इन्द्रासोमा समधर्शनसम्भश्यं तप宇र्यस्तु चरग्निवाँ इव। ब्रह्मद्विषे कव्यादे घोरचक्षसे द्वेषो धतमनवायं किमिदिने॥ (२) हे इंद्र एवं सोम! तुम पाप की प्रशंसा करने वाले राक्षसों को भली प्रकार नष्ट करो। तुम अपने तेज द्वारा संतप्त राक्षसों को इस प्रकार समाप्त कर दो, जिस प्रकार अग्नि में डाला हुआ चरु लुप्त हो जाता है। ब्राह्मणों से द्वेष रखने वाले, मांस भक्षक, डरावने नेत्रों वाले एवं कठो रभाषी राक्षसों के प्रति ऐसा व्यवहार करो, जिससे उनके प्रति तुम्हारा सदा द्वेष रहे। (२)

यथा नातः पुनरेकश्चोदयनदद्रास्तु सहसे मन्युमच्छवः.. (३)
As the sun rises, it dispels darkness and awakens strength.
हे इंद्र एवं सोम! तुम बुर कर्म करने वाले राक्षसों को वारक मरुस्थल एवं आश्रयहीन अंधकार में फेंक कर मारो, जिससे एक भी राक्षस जीवित न उठ सके. क्रोध्युक्त तुम्हारा वह प्रसिद्ध बल राक्षसों को दबाने में समर्थ हो. (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
इन्द्रासोमा वर्त्तयं दिवं वर्धं सं पृथिष्या अधशंसाय तर्हणम्. उत्क्षतं स्वयं १ पर्वतेभ्यो येन रक्षां वावृधानं निजुर्वथः.. (४)
Indra and Soma, you who sustain the heavens and increase the earth, you who are the destroyers of evil and the protectors of the righteous, by your power, you have raised us up from the mountains.
हे इंद्र एवं सोम! तुम अंतरिक्ष से हननसाधन आयुध उत्पन्न करो. पापों की प्रशंसा करने वाले के लिए तुम धरती से आयुध उत्पन्न करो. तुम बादलों से उस घातक वज्र को उत्पन्न करो जिसने बढ़े हुए राक्षस को नष्ट किया था. (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
इन्द्रासोमा वर्त्तयं दिवसपर्यन्तनिप्तेभियुवममह्ममभिः. तपुर्धभिरजरभिरत्रिनो नि पशान्नि विध्यतं यन्तु निस्वरम्.. (५)
O Indra and Soma, may your powerful rays, ever-shining and unfading, pierce through the darkness and lead us to the light.
हे इंद्र एवं सोम! अंतरिक्ष के चारों ओर आयुधों को भेजो. तुम अग्नि के द्वारा तपाए हुए, संतापदायक, प्रहार वाले, जरारहित एवं पत्थरों से निर्मित हननसाधन आयुधों द्वारा राक्षसों के आसपास के स्थान विदीर्ण करो. इससे वे राक्षस चुपचाप भाग जाएंगे. (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
इन्द्रासोमा परि वां भूतु विश्वं इयं मतिः कश्याश्चेव वाजिना. यां वां होत्रां परिहिणोमि मेघयेमा ब्रह्माणि नृपतीय जिन्वतु.. (६)
May this offering encompass you, Indra and Soma, with strength like a swift horse. May these hymns, offered with devotion, invigorate you, O mighty rulers.
हे इंद्र एवं सोम! जिस प्रकार दोनों ओर बंधी हुई रस्सी घोड़े को बांधती है, उसी प्रकार यह स्तुति तुम्हें प्रभावित करे. मैं बुद्धिबल से यह स्तुति तुम्हारे पास भेज रहा हूं. राजा जिस प्रकार धन से मांगने वाले की इच्छा पूरी करता है, उसी प्रकार तुम इस स्तुति को सफल बनाओ. (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
प्रति स्मरेथां तुजयद्विरेवैहंतं द्रुहो रक्षसो भडगुरावनः. इन्द्रासोमा दुष्कृते मा सुगं भूयो नः कदा चिदभिदास्तति द्रुहा.. (७)
O Indra and Soma, may we never again be led to evil deeds by wicked demons. May we never find ease in wrongdoing, nor be harmed by those who harbor malice.
हे इंद्र एवं सोम! तुम शीघ्र चलने वाले घोड़ों की सहायता से आओ. तुम द्रोही एवं तोडफोड़ करने वाले राक्षसों को नष्ट करो. दुष्टकर्म वाले राक्षस को सुख प्राप्त न हो. वह द्रोहभावना के कारण हमें कभी न कभी मार सकता है. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
यो मा पाकेन मनसा चरन्तमभिश्चे अनुतेभिवर्चोभिः. आपद्व काशिना सङ्गृभीता असन्त्वास्त इन्द्र वक्ता.. (८)
He who, with a pure mind, approaches the divine light and power, O Indra, may he be blessed with radiant strength.
हे इंद्र! जो राक्षस मुझ सच्चे मन एवं आचरण वाले को असत्यवादी कहता है, वह झूठ बोलने वाला राक्षस इस प्रकार नष्ट हो जाए, जिस प्रकार मुट्ठी में बंद पानी समाप्त हो जाता है.
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
ये पाक्शशंसं विहर्न्त्येवैयां वा भद्रं दूषयन्ति स्वधाभिः। अहये वा तान् प्रदातु सोम आ वा दधातु निर्ऋतेरूपस्थे.. (९)
May those who slander and defile the good with their offerings be given to the serpent, or placed in the lap of Nirriti (goddess of misfortune).
जो पाक्शशंस (अग्नि) को दूषित करते हैं, अथवा जो सोम को देते हैं, वे निर्ऋति के पास जाते हैं। (९)
Mandala 3 · Verse 1
मा चिदन्यद्धि शंसत सखायो मा रिषण्यत. इन्द्रमित्स्तोता वृषणं सचा सेतुं मुहुर्क्था च शंसत्.. (१)
O friends, do not praise anything else, nor be harmed. Sing praises of Indra, the powerful, the strong, again and again.
हे मित्र स्तोताओं! तुम इंद्र के अतिरिक्त किसी की स्तुति मत करो. तुम क्षीण मत बनो. सोमरस निचोड़ जाने पर एकत्र होकर अभिलाषापूर्वक इंद्र की स्तुति करते हुए बार-बार स्तोत्र बोलो. (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
अवक्ष्क्षिणं वृषभं ययाजुरं गां न चर्पणीसहम्. विद्वेपणं संवननोभयङ्करं महिष्ठमुभयाविनम्.. (२)
He who is praised, strong, and a performer of sacrifices, who is not easily overcome, who inspires awe and unity, and is the greatest, is the source of all.
हे स्तोताओं! बैल के समान शत्रुनाशक, युवा बैल के समान शत्रुमानवों को जीतने वाले, शत्रुओं से द्वेष रखने वाले, स्तोताओं द्वारा सेवायोग्य, कृपा द्वारा दिव्य एवं पार्थिव दोनों प्रकार के धन देने वाले, दाताओं में श्रेष्ठ एवं दोनों प्रकार के धन से युक्त इंद्र की स्तुति करो. (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
यच्चिद्धि त्वा जना इमे नाना हवन्त ऊतये. अस्माकं ब्रह्मणोऽस्मिन् भूतु तेऽड्डा विश्वा च वर्धनम्.. (३)
May you, whom these people invoke in various ways for protection, be ours, and may you bring prosperity and growth to our spiritual endeavors.
हे इंद्र! ये लोग यद्यपि अपनी रक्षा के लिए तुम्हारी भांति-भांति से स्तुतियां करते हैं परंतु हमारा यह स्तोत्र तुम्हारा सदैव वृद्धिकारक हो. (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
वि तर्तृयन्ते मधवन् विपश्चितोऽर्थो विपो जनानाम्. उप क्रमस्व पुरुषप्रमा भर वाजं नेदिष्ठभुतये.. (४)
The wise, discerning minds of people are uplifted by the wealth of knowledge. O Indra, the giver of abundance, approach us with great strength and prosperity for our ultimate well-being.
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! तुम्हारे विद्वान् स्तोता तुम्हारे शत्रु लोगों को भय के कारण कंपन्न उत्पन्न करते हैं एवं बार-बार विपत्तियों को पार कर जाते हैं. तुम हमारे पास आओ एवं हमारी रक्षा के लिए हमें अनेक रूप वाला एवं समीपवर्ती अन्न दो. (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
महे चन त्वामद्रिवः परा शुल्काय देयाम्. न सहसहाय नायुताय वज्रिво न शताय शतम.. (५)
Not even for a hundred thousand, nor for ten thousand, nor for a hundred, nor for ten, would I give you away for a price, O Indra.
हे वज्रधारी! हम तुम्हें बहुत धन देकर भी नहीं खरीद सकते, न ही हम तुम्हें किसी साधारण व्यक्ति या सौ के बदले में दे सकते हैं. (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
वस्यां इन्द्रासि मे पितुरुत भ्रातुरभुज्जत: माता च मे छदयथः समा वसो वसुत्वाय राधसे.. (६)
You, O Indra, are my father and my brother, and my mother has bestowed upon me wealth and prosperity.
हे इंद्र! तुम मेरे पिता की अपेक्षा भी अधिक संपत्तिशाली हो। तुम मेरे न भागने वाले भाई से भी महान हो। हे निवासयुक्त इंद्र! तुम एवं मेरी माता मिलकर मुझे व्यापक धन के लिए पूजित करो। (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
क्वेयथ क्वेदासि पुत्रश्च छिद्धि ते मनः अलर्षि युध खजकृत् पुरन्दर प्र गायत्रा अगासिषुः.. (७)
Where are you going, where are you coming from, my son? May your mind be freed. May you be victorious in battle, and may the divine singers sing your praises.
हे इंद्र! तुम कहां गए? तुम कहां हो? तुम्हारा मन विभिन्न दिशाओं में रहता है। हे युद्धकुशल, युद्धकर्ता एवं शत्रु नगरी को भेदने वाले इंद्र! आओ. स्तोता तुम्हारी स्तुतियां गाते हैं. (७)
Mandala 3 · Verse 8
प्रास्मं गायत्रमर्चत वावातुर्यः पुरन्दरः याभिः काण्वस्योपि बहिरसद यासद्रिजी भिनतपुरः.. (८)
Praise the radiant Gayatri, the protector who destroys enemies. By whom the sage Kanva was protected, and who shattered the fortress of the enemy.
हे स्तोताओं! इस इंद्र के लिए गाने योग्य स्तुतियां गाओ. शत्रु नगरी का भेदन करने वाले इंद्र सबके लिए सेवा करने योग्य हैं. जिन ऋचाओं को सुनकर इंद्र वज्र धारण करके कण्वपुत्रों के यज्ञ में बिछे कुशों पर बैठे थे एवं शत्रुओं की नगरियों को तोड़ा था, उन्हीं ऋचाओं द्वारा गाने योग्य स्तुति गाओ. (८)
Mandala 3 · Verse 9
ये ते सन्ति दशग्विनः शतिनो ये सहस्रिणः अश्वासो ये ते वे वृष्णो रघुदवस्तेभिनिस्तृमा गहि.. (९)
Come, O Indra, with your swift, powerful, and numerous horses, those of a hundred, a thousand, and even more, to this sacrifice.
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे जो दश योजन चलने वाले सौ एवं एक हजार घोड़े हैं, वे अभिलाषापूरक एवं शीघ्रगामी हैं. उन घोड़ों की सहायता से यहां शीघ्र आओ. (९)
Mandala 3 · Verse 1
इदं वसो सुतमन्यः पिबा सुपूर्णमुदरम्, अनाभयिश्न्रिमा ते.. (१)
Drink this Soma, O Soma, your belly is full; you are without fear.
हे निवासस्थान देने वाले इन्द्र! इस निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पिओ. हे सर्वथा भयरहित इन्द्र! तुम हें पेट भली प्रकार भर जावें. हम तुम्हें सोमरस देते हैं. (१)
Mandala 3 · Verse 2
नृभिर्धूतः सुतो अश्निरव्यो वारेः परिपूतः । अश्वो न निष्तो नदीषु.. (२)
Purified by men, the son (Agni) is the unassailable, all-pervading, and radiant one, like a horse released in the rivers.
नेताओं द्वारा धोया गया, कपड़ों की सहायता से निचोड़ा गया एवं मेष के बालों से पवित्र किया गया सोमरस नदी में स्नान किए हुए घोड़े के समान शोभित है. (२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 3
तं तं यवं यथा गोभिः स्वादुक्रमं श्रिणन्तः.. इन्द्र त्वास्मिन्त्सधमादे.. (३)
Savoring the sweetness of each grain, O Indra, we partake in this feast with you.
हे इन्द्र! जिस प्रकार जौ को गाय के दूध में मिलाकर स्वादिष्ठ बनाया जाता है, उसी प्रकार हमने गोदुग्ध मिलाकर सोमरस को स्वादिष्ठ किया है. मैं वह सोमरस पीने के लिए तुम्हें यज्ञ से बुलाता हूँ. (३)
Mandala 3 · Verse 4
इन्द्र इत्सोमापा एक इन्द्रः सुतपा विश्वायुः अन्तःर्देवान् मत्यांश्च.. (४)
Indra, the drinker of Soma, is the sole sustainer, the all-pervading, the inner essence of gods and men.
देवों एवं मानवों के बीच में एकमात्र इन्द्र ही सोमरस पीने वाले हैं. वे सोम पीने के लिए सब अन्नो से युक्त हैं. (४)
Mandala 3 · Verse 5
न यं शक्रो न दुराशीर्ण तृप्रा उरुव्यचसम्. अपस्पृणवते सुहार्दम्.. (५)
Even Indra and the satisfied gods cannot fully grasp the immeasurable, all-pervading Lord, whose divine love is beyond their reach.
जिस कोमल हृदय वाले इन्द्र को दीप्तिवाला सोम, दूध आदि से मिला सोम तथा तृप्ति देने वाला पुरोडाश अप्रसन्न नहीं करता, उसी इन्द्र की हम स्तुति करते हैं. (५)
Mandala 3 · Verse 6
गोभिर्दीयदीमन्त्ये अस्मनृगं न वा मृगयन्ते. अभित्सरन्ति धेनुभिः.. (६)
The cows, shining brightly, do not seek us, but rather they are surrounded by us.
बहलिए जिस प्रकार हरिणों को खोजते हैं, उसी प्रकार हमारे अतिरिक्त लोग गोदुग्ध आदि से मिले सोमरस की सहायता से इन्द्र को खोजते हैं. वे लोग स्तुतियां बोलते हुए गालत ढंग से इंद्र के सामने जाते हैं, इसलिए उन्हें प्राप्त नहीं करते. (६)
Mandala 3 · Verse 7
त्रय इन्द्रस्य सोमाः सुतासः सन्तु देवस्य. त्वं क्षये सुतपावन्ः.. (७)
May the three pressed Soma juices of the divine Indra be present. You, O purifier, are in the dwelling.
निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पीने वाले इन्द्र देव के लिए यज्ञशाला में तीन प्रकार का सोमरस बनाया जावे. (७)

The proud and deluded fight fiercely, like intoxicated beings, but their strength fades and they are consumed by time.
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार पी हुई शराब अंतःकरण में परस्परविरोधी भाव उठाकर युद्ध कराती है, उसी प्रकार पिया हुआ सोम भी हृदय में युद्ध करता है. स्तोता सोमपूर्ण इंद्र की रक्षा गाय के धन के समान करते हैं. (१२)
Mandala 3 · Verse 13
रेवाँ इन्द्रवतः स्तोता स्यात्त्वावतो मघोनः. प्रेदु हरिवः श्रुतस्य.. (१३)
May the singer be like Indra, mighty and praised, and may the generous one, O Hari, be renowned.
हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम धनवान् हो. तुम्हारा स्तोता भी धनवान् हो, तुम्हारे समान धनी एवं प्रसिद्ध व्यक्ति का स्तोता भी धन वाला ही होता है. (१३)

उक्थं चन शस्यमानमगो ररिरा चिकेत. न गायत्रं गीयमानम्.. (१४)
The praise of the Uktam is not truly heard by the ignorant, nor is the Gayatri sung by the uninitiated.
स्तुति न करने वाले के शत्रु इंद्र गाए जाते हुए उक्थ को जान लेते हैं. उस समय गाने योग्य गान गाया जाता है. (१४)
